Buddha Som is the first full-service cannabis hospitality group in New England. Our cannabis sommeliers, known as interpeners, are industry veterans and among only a handful of people, worldwide, who have completed the Professional Interpener certification issued by the Trichome Institute, the nation's premier cannabis-industry educator.

The most basic definition of a cannabis interpener is someone who uses their expert knowledge of the cannabis plant to evaluate the quality and likely effect of a marijuana flower. We do that using aromatic and visual perception techniques that anyone can learn to practice. We teach people how to anticipate the effect of a flower based on smell and appearance.
Buddha Som came about because we think that mainstreaming marijuana isn’t just legalizing it; it’s de-stigmatizing it. One way to do that is to introduce it to people who usually spend their disposable income on fine wines or premium craft beers and whiskies. Maybe they haven’t indulged in decades, or maybe they were scared off by Richard Nixon and Reefer Madness. Buddha Som demystifies the plant in a variety of fun formats.
Whether you’re canna-curious or a cannoisseur, Buddha Som has more to teach you. Marijuana is medicine and, as such, we respect all kinds of consumption. In cannabis, a sommelier’s expertise is known as "interpening", or interpreting terpenes: cannabis' essential oils that modulate the effect of cannabinoids like THC and CBD. Hosts and their guests, at any level of experience, will feel comfortable exploring different varietals of New England’s best marijuana flower.
In addition to private parties, we offer 1-on-1 consultations, full-package and a la carte wedding services, bachelor/ette party programming, seated 5-course dinner-party pairings and/or infusions, and bud bars for corporate events.
